MPC Connect is looking for a full‑time Online English Tutor who will teach live English lessons to students from around the world. The job is based in the Midrand office in Gauteng, but all teaching happens on a video‑call platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. If you enjoy speaking English, helping others improve, and can follow a set lesson plan, this role could be a great fit.
What You Will Do Every Day
- Teach live English classes using the company’s online platform.
- Deliver lessons that are clear, fun and on‑track with the provided material.
- Adjust the speed or difficulty of a lesson if a student needs more help.
- Keep the virtual classroom tidy – make sure everyone respects the rules and takes turns speaking.
- Mark student attendance and update progress reports after each class.
- Help learners with grammar, pronunciation and speaking confidence.
- Follow a shift schedule that may include evenings or weekends, depending on class demand.
- Use basic digital tools (screen sharing, chat, breakout rooms) to run smooth lessons.
- Arrive on time for every class and act professionally with students and colleagues.
What You Need to Have
- Education: Grade 12 or a university degree in any field.
- Certification: A 120‑hour TEFL, TESOL or an equivalent teaching certificate.
- English Skills: Strong command of English grammar and clear speaking ability.
- Tech Skills: Basic knowledge of computers and comfort with video‑call software.
- Location: Ability to work from the Midrand centre (commutable distance).
- Personal Qualities: Patience, good listening, and the ability to stay calm when a class gets busy.
- Work Habits: Punctual, reliable and able to follow a set lesson plan without changing it unexpectedly.
