About the Internship
Media24 is South Africa’s biggest media company. We run popular sites like News24, Netwerk24, and Daily Sun. We’re looking for bright, tech‑savvy students to join our team for 12 months. If you love media, computers, and want to learn about artificial intelligence (AI), this internship could be perfect for you.
What You’ll Do
- Learn New Tech – We use cloud services and AI. You’ll start with the basics and then help build cool projects.
- Team Up – Work side by side with experienced engineers and designers. You’ll learn how to create, test, and launch AI tools.
- Build AI Projects – Follow a project from idea to finished product. You’ll gather data, train models, test them, and put them into real apps.
- Research Latest Trends – Stay up‑to‑date with new AI methods and share what you find with the team.
What We Look For
This is an internship, so we don’t need years of work experience. We do need:
- A BSc Hons in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum 65% average.
- Knowledge of maths, statistics, and programming.
- Understanding of AI basics—linear regression, logistic regression, random forests, and neural networks is a plus.
- South African citizenship (only South Africans can apply).
- Ready to learn, ask questions, and finish tasks that are assigned.
Nice to Have
- Living in Cape Town (you’ll need to come to the Foreshore office every day).
- Good at managing several tasks at once.
- Curious about media and tech.
- Clear communication skills.
- Passion for doing high‑quality work.
- Feeling comfortable when things aren’t clear at first.
